Principal's Message

Principal Amy Day

Principal:  Amy Day

Greetings from Principal Day!

As always, it is my privilege to serve the students, staff and families of Guy B. Teachey Elementary School. Here at Teachey, we are dedicated in providing the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment. Working together as a team with our staff and parents, I am fully committed to helping each student achieve their very best. At Teachey Elementary, we create “everyday miracles” for our students…educational and learning memories that last a lifetime!

Therefore, every child is valued and worthy of our best effort!

As an ambassador of public education, I have served as an elementary classroom teacher, Reading Recovery specialist, Curriculum Facilitator and Administrator at both the elementary and middle school levels. In each role, I set high expectations for myself and those who work with me. Doing what is best for the children of Asheboro City Schools is what guides and directs all decisions made here at Teachey. We work as a team here at Teachey and our goal is for each child to reach his/her potential in learning. As your Principal, I will continue to work hard to maintain the legacy of success created here at Teachey Elementary. We anticipate another spectacular 2017-2018 school year as every individual on staff will support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child.

Please make sure you are signed up in Class Dojo for your child! This will guarantee streamlined communication between the school and home. Each classroom is expected to have 100% participation with Class Dojo this school year.

Please partner with me as we continue to build a strong culture of avid readers by encouraging children to read on a daily basis. We challenge each family to create a home life where adults and children both read at least 20 minutes or more each and every day (even on the weekends).  Learning does not end at the 2:35 bell.

In Tiger Pride,

Amy W. Day
