Our curriculum is individualized for

each student and based on their

Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s)


We currently use several Research based reading programs mandated by Asheboro City Schools. Examples:
SRA’s – Language For Learning
SRA’s -Reading Mastery
SRA’s – Corrective Reading
Sophia-West – Language

We implement “Writer’s Workshop” to help improve student’s writing.

We use a variety of resources to teach math based on the Common Core Standards. 

Student’s are expected to be prepared for class, arrive on time and put forth their best effort.

Parents are expected to attend IEP meetings.

Every effort will be made to accommodate the day and time to fit your schedule.
Parents are encouraged to assist students with their nightly homework.
We follow the NC Department of Exceptional Children Federal and State guidelines.

All children served by the EC Department are expected to follow school rules and procedures.

We offer a variety of activities – ranging from educational school basedand internet computer programs, social skill groups, positive behaviormodeling & role playing and educational games

Within the EC Department we use a variety of Benchmark and Criterion reference based testing.
